Whose Future? German Development Policy between Global Justice and Strategic Interests

Development cooperation is changing globally. Many traditional donor countries are drastically cutting development budgets, while newer donor countries have joined the field. These changes are accompanied by shifting policy priorities and debates on the ends of development cooperation and who should benefit from it. At the same time, unfolding crises and conflicts across the globe endanger the futures of many and require urgent attention.

What future is development cooperation heading for?

What challenges does this political context entail for development cooperation that is rooted in genuine solidarity?

How can we design development cooperation beyond strategic interests to contribute to a more just future that leaves no one behind?

Join us in Berlin to explore what this transformation means for German development policy and to discuss these questions with experts from state institutions and civil society organizations active in the field.

Where? Martas Gästehaus, Lehrter Straße 68, 10557 Berlin

Arrival: We will travel to Berlin together by train. Details will be sent around after registration.

Costs? 30€ per participant
